BOMA GIVES BACK Philanthropy Events At the Nov. 15th Foodie Fest held in Paramus, two truck loads of food were collected from BOMA members and guests and delivered to the Volunteers of America’s Rahway food pantry. Now you too can join the effort to help those who need our help. The BOMA Philanthropic Committee (BOMA CARES) has identified 4 member locations around the state to be host sites for a “Second Chance Food Drive”, where members can drop off non perishable food items which will be delivered to local food pantries chosen by the individual site hosts to address the continuing food insecurity by so many. A poster in various sizes is available to download for you. We request that you display the poster and distribute flyers with a collection box at your properties then deliver the box to one of the locations on the 29th of November between noon and 4pm. Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving and thank you for your generous support throughout the year! Download 8.5 x 11 poster Download 8.5 x 14 poster Download 11 x 17 poster |

Sleep Out 2023 On May 4th, a BOMA NJ team of four women strong headed out on a philanthropic adventure. Joining the Covenant House's Annual Sleep Out, Women Unite, we participated in an evening full of information on homelessness within our youth, touching on mental health, human trafficking, and addiction. We heard first-hand stories from some young people who faced homelessness and how the program has helped them. This miracle-working charity isn't a shelter that forces its occupants out and gives the individual the bare minimum with no resources. The Covenant House provides a warm place to live, mental health counseling, support and help getting into addiction treatment centers, job and career training, hot meals, showers, laundry, and a family environment. They do this all, and they do it respectfully and with kindness. We laughed, cried, and slept on a cardboard box in Met Life Stadium during the event. Yes, it rained. Yes, we were cold. No, we didn't really sleep. And yes, we really slept on a cardboard box overnight. Our small BOMA NJ Team of four brave women raised almost $5,500 for these kids who need it. Thank you to Amanda Zega, BOMA NJ President and Captain for the event; Kirsten Giardi of Newark Regional Business Partnership for being part of the BOMA NJ team; Linda De Pasquale Licitra of John Mini, and Ellen Wolfe of ABM; thank you all for saying yes to such an incredible experience and helping raise awareness and funds for our youth in crisis. Thank you to all who donated to each of our participants and supported BOMA NJ and this incredible cause. |
